Typical options used for this type of erosion control includes the following:

Coir Matting

One of the most common erosion control options for hillside or slope stabilization is the Coir Erosion Control Mat. Constructed from a coir twine weave, these mats are often successfully placed along hillsides to help stabilize the area. Sizing and strength options for use in the following areas:

  • 3:1 Slopes
  • 2:1 Slopes
  • Up to 1:1 Slops
  • Flow Rates up to 16 fps

Coir mats are sold by the roll and can be installed to your location by stapes, stakes or other stabilization methods. Standard mats are design to biodegrade over a period of 4 to 6 years.

Coir Logs

coir fiber logsAnother popular option for hillside stabilization are Coir Erosion Control Logs. Made a combination of coconut coir fibers and woven coir twine, these logs are often installed along the side of a hill to stabilize and control water flow. Coir logs offer the following features:

  • 12", 16" or 20" Diameters
  • 10' Standard Length
  • Bristle Coir Twine Netting
  • Interior Coconut Coir fibers

These logs are typically installed along the slope of hill to help stabilize the area.
