Non Woven and Woven Geotextiles

16 oz. Non Woven Geotextiles

The 16 oz/yd2 nonwoven geotextile is the highest textile available and offers a grab tensile strength of 380 lbs, which is more then most wovens can hold. Made of the highly durable polypropylene fabric, these geotextiles are high in strength, as well as naturally high resistance to UV exposure, rot and other ground chemicals. The fabric is brought together by a needle-punturing system that increases flexibility in the fabric.

The 16 oz. can take on the toughest erosion problems for some of the hardest reinforcement jobs. However, if this strength is more than your application needs, additional lighter weights are available with grab tensile options as low as 80 pounds. These can be found on the Nonwoven Geotextile main page.

Woven Geo Textiles

Stabilization and Separation Fabrics

Woven geo textiles are a high strength stabilization fabric used in the support and stabilization of roads, rip rap, hills and other erosion prone areas. Often used to provide structural support or separation between layers of aggregate, these fabrics offer the perfect blend of strength and chemical/UV resistance.

Our Woven Geotextile Fabric Selection

Woven Geotextiles have been successfully implemented in several applications including areas dealing with a high level of weight, pressure, or traffic. Typical uses include the following:

  • Rip Rap Erosion Control
  • Driveway/Road Stabilization
  • Separation of Aggregates
  • Railroad Construction
  • Erosion Control
  • Support Under Seawalls

Woven Fabrics & Roads

woven geotextilesOne of the most common uses for woven fabric is for stabilization under roads. This will include, but is not limited to, dirt roads, rail roads, paved roads, construction site entrances and more.

How it works

Woven fabrics are commonly used under loose materials to help prevent pockets of erosion during standard use. By adding this layer of fabric, aggregate is able to stay level and in place even when faced with water runoff or rain. Due to their high strength, these fabrics are also able to offer the support necessary for both the top aggregate/paving and vehicular traffic.

Woven Geotextiles & Rip Rap

Rip rap is a common erosion protection solution used along slopes, shorelines and other areas looking for a long term control method. In order to prepare eroding soils for placement of the stone, woven geo textiles are installed prior to riprap installation. High in strength, these fabrics are able to provide a solid structure underneath rocks to keep them effective and in place.

Woven Geo Textile Models

The most common woven geotextile models include fabrics with a grab tensile strength of either 150, 200 or 315 lbs. If you are unsure about what geotextile fabric you require, please don't hesitate to give us a call! +1-772-646-0597
